Visiting Grandparents, UK '06

Look at that beautiful baby--all the more beautiful surrounded by such handsome men! Alex knew what to do with all of our attention at her YiaYia's house in the U.K.

Wow, four generations of beauties!

A rare moment of disinterest in the camera, but only by Alex.

Funny, all that time on the table and Alex never once worried about being the main course. I guess she hasn't heard of Hansel and Grettel.

YiaYia the Original entertains Alex (and the fish).

YiaYia and Papouli had a full week with the wee one. We're all looking forward to more time together.

Why is Pappouli laughing so hard? Did he just pull an ace from the bottome of the deck? :)

Alex shows her Irish side here after returning home.

Darren and Alex's first father's day together. Well, they were together last year, but it was quite a different experience.

Boy oh boy are we behind on putting up pics. But Alex says that's alright, everything is A-OK. Here she is in her top from Papouli David, who visited earlier this year.

Picture order is obviously not a priority...here's Ruth helping Alex open her presents from her Papouli. Thanks to David for being such a great entertainer and keeping Alex smiling during our small road trips around Boulder!

Grandpa Fred (Ferd) also visited, and he and Alex got along just fine.

There's been a lot of toe sucking going on lately. There's a lot of benefit to a baby's flexibility, but sucking my toes is not something I regret being unable to do.

There's ton(ne)s more to come soon. We made our first airplane travel with Alex to the U.K. to see Grandma and Great Grandparents. And she's getting lots of hair. Coming soon, we promise!

There's been a picture posting blackout for too long. But perhaps it was worth the wait...Alex is back and she's BEAUTIFUL.

We're happy to report that she loves to bathe. However, every bath must be followed in short order by a meal, and perhaps a snoozie.

Going out in style...

And kicking it at home.

Doesn't that look comfortable?

Beautiful Baby

What a happy mellow baby we have been blessed with.

Wearing Sophie la Girafe from Aunt Em.

Cute as can be.

"Okay, I'll try this new swing. But I am not saying if I am going to like it."

On our favourite trail.

Always thinking...

"I have to think very carefully about this finger."

Start as you mean to go on...

Everyone is getting sleepy...

Ben stayed with us for a few days on his way back to Illinois. We all enjoyed the visit, including Rayleigh!

Grandpa's Visit

Grandpa Malcolm came to visit in January. He enjoyed a full immersion experience hanging out with us and the baby for 4+ days!

Grandpa took over baby holding duties quite often...

Most of the time Alex was in a good mood, but she got her innoculations one day and luckily Grandpa was around to help when she didn't feel so well.

Everyone's arms get tired eventually, so luckily Alex still enjoys sitting in the vibrating chair.

Alex has learned to place her hand where she wants it. Well, near where she wants it...but sometimes she gets it just right, as in this photo.

"What, Grandpa's leaving?!!!"

Alex says, "Goodbye and come back again soon!"

Two Months Old

Alexandra is two months old... She now weighs 11lbs4oz and is 23" long. Her head circumference is 15". So she is growing wonderfully. She is big and strong and very happy. Though she is not so happy this afternoon after her immunizations.

Wearing her first pair of shoes. It sort of looks as though she is standing and dancing, doesn't it?

Just hanging out with daddy - oh and don't forget Rayleigh.
Okay fetch!

Here is Alexandra having her first big girl's bath in the new tub. She really loved being in the water and did not like leaving the bath one bit.
